Struthers - Mary M. Petrella, 77, of Struthers, died Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Heath Center in Youngstown. Mary was born February 14, 1933 in Struthers, a daughter of Carmine and Mary Climaco Petrella. A life-long resident of Struthers, Mary lived with her brother, Carmen, in their family home on Perry Street in Nebo until moving to Maplecrest Nursing Home in March.
Mary attended Center Street School in Struthers and at one time worked at Super Laundry in Youngstown and McAllister Market in Struthers. She was a homemaker. Mary was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, its' Altar and Rosary Society, the St. Nicholas Senior Citizens and 3105 AARP.
Mary is survived by two sisters, Raffaela "Ruby" Yacovone of Cortland, NY and Concetta Coss of Struthers; two brothers, Dominic (Phyllis) Petrella and Carmen Petrella, all of Struthers; ten nieces and nephews, Paul (MaryAnn) Yacovone, Shirley Tutino, Joseph (Rosemarie) Manfredi, Jerry (Kathy) Coggi, Marie Rovnak, Yvonne Petrella, Eva (Paul) Gucwa, Doreen (Tony) Ghioldi, Brenda (Jim) Calai, and Thomas (Gena) Blough; eighteen great nieces and nephews; and six great-great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Coggi, Margaret Manfredi, and Louise Blough.
Services will be held today at 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers with Father Bernard Gaeta officiating. Friends may call today from 5:45 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
